We all remember Winnebago,
Choctaw, Chippewa, too
Geronimo and Dixie's Main Street--
Weller Avenue!

Yes, here's a toast
To the streets we walked
Morning, Noon & Night
They defined our world
When it was safe
Back when they were white!

We toast them now with sadness,
With joy mixed with pain,
'Cause only in our minds and hearts
Will we walk those streets again
